Disturbed and Filter, together?


Disturbed frontman David Draiman will start work on his new side project with ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo at the end of the month. He's been Tweeting with fans about the project today, saying that they'll start recording on May 31st and that he hasn't chosen a name but is "still throwing a few around." Draiman hopes to have an album out "before the new year."

New 'Tallica Festival

Metallica's big announcement today is a brand-new festival called Orion Music and More. It will take place June 23rd and 24th at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Metallica will headline both nights -- one night, they'll perform The Black Album in its entirety, and on the other they'll play Ride the Lightning.
22 other bands will appear on the bill, including Avenged Sevenfold, Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse and Cage the Elephant. Tickets go on sale to fan club members tomorrow and to the public on Saturday.
The band talked about the festival during a webcast yesterday. James Hetfield said the band was still figuring out the non-music parts of the fest and that "ideas were flowing." Lars Ulrich said he was looking forward to "meeting the other bands, seeing the other bands and hanging out with all the fans." --Steve Reynolds

Dolly Parton announces partnership with Gaylord Opryland for a water/snow theme park in Nashville. The park is a 50/50 partnership between Dolly and Gaylord Entertainment. Construction of the park is estimated to cost around $50 million, and it's expected to open in Spring of 2014. Spokesperson says they expect 1/2 a million visitors the first year, and the park will employ around 450 people. The them park will sit on 50-60 acres of property at McGavock Pike / Pennington Bend across from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The 2 companies have not decided on a name yet, but it will be the first of it's kind in the U.S. In addition to the big news, Dolly celebrated her birthday with the crowd at the press conference, where she was serenaded, and given a 6ft tall pink box filled with pictures of people enjoying a water park and filled with snow.
